On Friday, we began our Map Scavenger Hunt.
The students worked in groups to explore 6 different types of maps to answer
questions about the different regions of the United States.
It was a perfect day to run around and play with our 4th grade friends
from other classes!
During our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) time, we learned about how to "rethink."
For our Brain Builder, we had to act out a motion to represent the different shape. The second time through, our directions changed! We had to "rethink" to have blue represent a circle in front, red to represent a triangle, and yellow to represent a start.
With a partner, we worked to act out how we can help others "rethink."
Our example from our lesson had a girl wanting to quit soccer because she didn't stop a goal.
Her sister helped her "rethink" by asking her questions like...
What are the facts?
Has this happened to someone else?
What was something positive that happened?
We filled up our Put Up Jar again!
Our kids in Room 44 are full of kindness.
We shared our narrative writing with our first grade buddies.
The kids were so excited to connect and share!
We tried something new for picture day!
Our Tweeter (#13) wanted to take "behind the scenes" photos while we were waiting to get our pictures taken by the professionals.
Although we were not the quietest group in the hall, we sure had fun taking pictures with our classmates!
