Self-Portraits, Name Writing, and Science Observations

We began by working alone to create as many possible ways to make 25.
Then we worked with a buddy to see if we could come up with more possible ways.
We could use any math strategy to make 25.

We worked on creating our half self-portrait following a YouTube video and step by step instructions.

We took the information from our name questionnaire to write about our name.
We learned that a writing partner can encourage us to continue working
and can help us when we are stuck.

In science, we made observations on different patterns we see on maps.
We learned how to make associations between different types of data presented on maps.

We learned that readers do more than just read the words.
Good readers think about what they are reading and jot along the way.
We learned about different places to stop and jot as we read.
We shared our jots with a partner.

In science, we also took time to share our "wonderings" with information we are learning and observing.

More morning break fun!
